Getting started
How do I connect my phone to my computer?
- On your computer, open tebchart.com/dictate in any browser. No login, no download, no account. A QR code appears straight away.
- In the tebDictate app, tap Dictate to your computer.
- Point your phone's camera at the QR code on screen.
- Start speaking. Your words appear on the computer, at the cursor.
Do I need to install anything on the computer?
No. The computer only needs a web browser. Nothing is installed, and nothing runs after you close the tab.
Can I use it without a computer at all?
Yes. Open the Dictation pad from the home screen and dictate straight into your phone, then copy or share the text. This uses exactly the same speech engine as the paired mode.
Troubleshooting
It says my language has no on-device speech pack
tebDictate only ever transcribes on your own device. When a language has no on-device pack installed, it stops and tells you, rather than quietly sending your audio to a server. To fix it, install the offline speech data for that language in your phone's own settings, or choose a different language in tebDictate's settings. You can always type instead.

How do I delete my data?
